Mo Ling Nancy Tong, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2024, at the age of 94. She was surrounded by her loving family in Markham, where she had resided for over 30 years.

Mo Ling was born on March 28, 1930, in Shanghai, China, to the late Po Cheung Tong and Pui Lan Chung. She attended Lai Chack Middle School. In 1954, she married Yum Nam Chan, and together they raised three wonderful children until Yum Nam's passing in 1974. Mo Ling was a devoted wife and a loving mother, always putting her family's needs first.

Mo Ling is survived by her three children, Natalie (Herman Lee), Nelson (Erica Lo), and Melinda (Paul Caouette); her seven grandchildren, Christina, Calvin, Melissa, Emily, Bryan, Antonia, and Zachary; her great-grandchild Wesley Henry; her sister, Alice Tong; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

A celebration of Mo Ling’s life will be held on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at 12:30 PM at the Elgin Mills Funeral Centre. A funeral reception will follow at Fancy Chinese Cuisine after the funeral service and cremation witnessing.

Mo Ling’s family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers from Yee Hong Hospice for their compassion and support during her final days.

Mo Ling will be remembered for her unwavering love, determination in life, and the significant impact she made on many lives. She will be deeply missed but forever cherished in our hearts.
