Miyoko (Miyo) Sora passed away peacefully at Scarborough Birchmount Hospital surrounded by her family on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at the age of 96.

Miyo, daughter of Shoso and Shigeko Tomihiro was born in Royston, British Columbia on September 23, 1925 and after the war, settled in Toronto, Ontario.

Predeceased by her beloved husband Masato (Stoney). Loving mother to Chris (Marie-France), Ann (Ken) and Arlene. Dear grandmother to Lee, Morgan, Wendy (Adam), Stefanie (Chris) and Kristi and dear great grandmother to Hugo and Madeleine. Will be deeply missed by her brother Sumio (Sheila), brother-in-law Takao (Nancy) and sister-in-laws Lillian, Betty, Kazuko, Joan and Ruby and by many nephews, nieces, grand nephews and grand nieces. Predeceased by her brothers Michio, Sachio, Yasushi, Yoshiro and Hisashi, brother-in-laws Art and Kazuo, sister-in-law Mary and niece Millie Tomihiro-Guitor.

Cremation and burial will occur shortly and be attended by her children and their families. A celebration of life for family and friends will be organized when the pandemic situation has stabilized.

In lieu of flowers or Koden, donations to Momiji Health Care Society, the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre or your favourite charity would be appreciated by the family.
