It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Miyoko (Miyo) Hamasaki, who passed away on Sunday, May 7, 2023 at the age of 93 in North York Seniors Health Centre.

Miyo, predeceased by her husband, the late Kazumasa (Masa). Survived by her daughters, Karen Kokubun (Ray), Sandy Henry (Brent) and son Gary (Gloria). She will be dearly missed by her grandchildren, Michael (Joanna), Trevor (Jesse), Kristin (Jordan), Meagan (Tiago), David (Kiersten), Kate and her five great grandchildren. Survived by her sisters Betty Nishiyama (late husband Ken), Nancy Morino (late husband Herb) and Chris Kikuta (Herb). She was a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Miyo was predeceased by her parents, Ryohei and Sumi Masuda, siblings Keiji, Emiko, Hidetoshi, Yasuo (late wife Lucy), Toshiko (late husband Casey), Fred and Joe. The family would like to thank Dr. Hunter and all the 4th floor nurses and staff at North York Seniors Health Centre for their care and support these last few months. A special thanks to Ana for her loving care of our mother.

A private family service will take place for Miyo at Pine Hills Cemetery.
