In memory of

Miriam Florence Aquanno

November 4, 1928 -  January 25, 2023

It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our loving mother and grandmother, Miriam Florence Aquanno on Wednesday January 25th, 2023. Reunited with her partner in love and in life, Frank Aquanno. Born in the little village of South Petherton, Somerset, England on the 4th of November 1928, to William and Nora Keetch. Mom was the eldest of 4 siblings; Molly, Philip (deceased infant) and Phillippa (deceased). A year after she met Frank in England, she left home to join him in Canada in 1948 where she made it her home and spent the next 66 years with her Honey. Loving mother to Mike (Julie), Chris (Deb) and Tom (Kim). Dedicated nanny to Scott (Kim), Amber (Tyler), Kristen (Stu), Josh (Mel), Caroline and Connor. Dearly missed by her 10 great-grandchildren; Alexa, Jackson, Kaitlynn, Charlie, Megan, Tiffany, Liam, Lillianna, Madison and Nathan. Fondly remembered by her loving sister, Molly and her sister-in-law, Lee. Preceded by her baby sister, Phillippa and brothers-in-law Dave, Tony King and Tony Aquanno. She will be fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mom can now renew close friendships, evening the players around the Mahjong table. Forever in our hearts, we will miss you dearly. We love you mom.

We were blessed to know Miriam, and were lucky enough to be a guest in her home in Toronto, do a road trip with her, and share a beer with her while watching the Toronto Maple Leafs She was a wonderful lady, and in the short time we knew her, we were lucky to experience her energizing spirit. We hold you all in our hearts, and are sending love to all the Aquanno family. Pat and Charlie Pace

I am sad to hear of Mrs. Aquanno's passing. I have fond memories of growing up in Shearwater with the Aquanno family. Both Chris and I were born in Arbroath, Scotland when our parents were there. I remember our parents getting together with the Aquanno and Dine families on Saturday night to watch Hockey Night in Canada. I also remember great times at the Aquanno family cottage. Mrs Aquanno was always so kind, a beautiful warm smile and lots of humour. I am glad I was able to see her a few years back visiting Ottawa at my parents with Chris and Deb . My parents often spoke of Mim and Frank and the great times they shared in Arbroath and Shearwater. She will be missed .
