Born October 18th 1932 in Nurmuiza, Latvia, passed away March 12th 2022 in Woodbridge, Ontario. Sadly missed by his wife Irene Buls, daughter Balva Fick (Lorne), predeceased son, Paul Namgauds. Granddaughter Kayla Best (Scott), Grandson Travis Fick, Blugh and Cory Namgauds and Great Grandchildren Zachery, Zoey and Corbin. Sister Balva Kula Bredovskis (Atis), predeceased brother Andris Namgauds, Janis (Brenda) Namgauds and his nephew Mark in England. Mintauts also leaves a niece, Amanda with her sons Jamie and Samuel in England, daughter of the late Janis and Brenda Namgauds. The spouse, Pauline and children, Thomas, Becky and Lucy of the late Mark Namgauds In England.
The Namgauds family spent a few years in England before immigrating to Canada in 1961 and settled in Toronto.
Mintauts met his beloved partner, Irene at the Latvian Canadian Cultural Centre where he worked as the caretaker and maintenance man for many years. He sang in the Latvian Pensioners choir, Daugavas Vanagi choir and belonged to the Daugavas Vanagi Organization. He was proud to belong to these. Many trips to the South were made as he enjoyed seeing islands for instance Cuba, Jamaica, Dominican Republic and St. Lucia.
He also spent some time on his condominium board.
Mintauts enjoyed being at home with Irene and took up on cooking and experimenting with many recipes from cooking shows. He also made great normal meals. One of his great loves was going fishing, cooking and eating his catch. This was usually done with his brother-in-law, Atis where they would sit on the lake for many hours just fishing. He also enjoyed watching tennis matches and Manchester United games of which Mintauts was a great fan.
Mintauts spent his last few months at Kristus Darzs Latvian home in Woodbridge.

A memorial service will be held at York funeral Centre on April 6th 2022, more information provided in funeral details tab above.
