In memory of
Miniebell Andrews
November 3, 1925 -
December 19, 2021
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Miniebell Andrews, on December 19, 2021 at Stratford General Hospital.
She is predeceased by her parents, husband, first husband and son Frederick ‘Fred’. She is survived by her children Martin, Clarence and Beverley, their spouses, her adoring Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren and Great Great-Grandchildren.
Miniebell was born in Jamaica where she lived a harmonious life in the company of her sister Vernice. Her first marriage saw the welcoming of her children Beverley, Fred and Clarence, all born also in Jamaica. After the early passing of her first husband, she immigrated to London, England to pursue a career in nursing. It was during those years that she met her second husband, with whom she welcomed her fourth child Martin.
After moving back to Jamaica, she decided to emigrate a second time to join her son Fred in Canada. The tide of misfortune came once more with the untimely passing of her son Fred, after which she decided to relocate to Florida with her husband; ultimately immigrating back to Canada due to health complications affecting her husband, whom sadly also passed away shortly after.
In Canada she made a life for herself in the company of her children, she was a homebody and loved to cook, go shopping and take care of her home. She looked forward to family gatherings and seeing some of her close friends.
She always encouraged us to live in peace and forgive others. Her famous words were “just let it go for a ‘peaceful’ life”. She celebrated her 90th birthday in the company of her son in Cuba, where she had a lovely time with the residents there making her a celebrity for a few minutes,
Miniebell lived a long, fruitful life and we are all grateful to have been a part of her journey. She will be forever missed by her family, many friends, neighbors and all of those whose hearts she touched.
Please note that due to gathering restrictions for funerals, related to the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic, the funeral service for Miniebell will be a private family affair. We thank everyone for your support and kindness through these difficult days, and hope we can gather in the future to celebrate her life.
A livestream will be available on the date and time of the service through a link at the top of this obituary page.
