June 8, 1920 - May 17, 2022

MILVI (MILLA) VÄLJAS passed away peacefully on May 17, 2022, only 3 weeks away from her 102nd birthday. Predeceased by her husband, Leonard and by her younger brother Valden (Juta, predeceased). Milvi will be deeply missed by her son Peter (Marianne), grandchildren Kristina (John), Lennard (Erin) and Austin, great-grandchildren Maxwell, Jet and Kody, sister Helve (Edmund, predeceased) and many relatives and friends in Canada and Estonia. We find comfort knowing that Milvi is resting safely in the arms of her Saviour and reunited in Heaven with her loved ones who have gone before.

A celebration of Milvi’s life will take place on June 8 which happens to be her birthday. York Cemetery and Funeral Home will be the location for the following: The visitation will be from 1-2pm followed by a service in the chapel of which will be available to view via livestream through this page. A reception will follow in the hall at York Funeral Home.

Dearest Peter and Marianne,
We are all celebrating the life of your loving mother. I have so many wonderful memories throughout my life of Tadi Milvi and your Dad.
I know the feeling of loss you are currently feeling but I know that your mom and my mom are together with the Christ they loved and served.

Milla and Leo were wonderful hosts and hostesses at their lovely cottage up north. As young people we played volleyball there, enjoyed great fellowship, and stayed in the side cabin with my family when I was a child.,

My sincere, heartfelt condolences on the passing of Peter's Ema/mother. The loss leaves a painful void, but she was blessed with an extraordinarily full and long life, which will give you and your family wonderful memories to cherish.
