We, the family of Mildred Isadora Herbert, are saddened to announce the passing of our beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother, Mildred, on July18, 2026.

Mildred was born in Sydney, Nova Scotia, on September 18th, 1930, where she was educated and eventually moved to Montreal, then on to Toronto seeking employment. Mildred was employed by the Ministry of Housing Human Resources Payroll Dept., retiring after 35 years service.

Mildred was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Estelle Herbert, a daughter in infancy, Donna Raylynn, her Sister, Muriel of Montreal, and her dear Brothers, Garvan, Joseph, and Renald all of Toronto, Ont.

Mildred is survived by her daughter, Rhea Herbert (Andre), her two Grandsons, Jerome Jackson, and Elijah Herbert. Also blessed with six Great-Grandchildren, Lariah, Lanaya, Jaiden, Ava, Kyrie and Quincy, her Sister-in-law, Ann Herbert (Garvan), and several nieces and nephews with whom she enjoyed great relationships.

Mildred was a humble person enjoying some of her favorite pastimes; sewing, bingo, bowling, taking care of her plants, later years game shows/soap operas, and Sydney-Toronto Reunion group Casino trips accompanied by family and friends.

Being such a kind and caring person, Mildred found so much joy in her Grandsons, and Great Grandchildren who loved her dearly, challenging her words of wisdom and loving her quick wit sense of humor.

The family would like to thank Dr. Nitten, Nurse Practioner for her continuous care throughout the years, Grace, Care Co-ordinator, PCWs Bebe, Chinwe, and Kiesha, and Maria, Physio, for all the wonderful care provided to my Mom. Most recent, Dr. Pham and the diligent staff of Centenary Rouge Valley Hospital.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to York Cemetary & Funeral Centre, 160 Beecroft Rd, North York, Ontario.
