In memory of

Mike Man Yung To

March 27, 1932 -  November 6, 2021

In loving memory of Mike Man Yung To, who passed away peacefully in hospital at the age of 89 on Sat, Nov 6, 2021 after an acute illness. He is survived by Eliza and Victor, his daughter and son.

Mike was born in Hong Kong and immigrated to Canada in the 1968. He was a hard-working man and was in the retail sector throughout his life. Family was very important to him and he helped family members immigrate to Canada. He married Sirena Pic-Ngan in 1970 and had two children. Mike was a devout Christian and shared his love of God with his family. Photography was a life-long interest for him, and for 23 years, Mike and Sirena ran a camera and electronics store in Guelph, Ontario. After closing the business, the family moved to Scarborough, Ontario. In his later years, he had the opportunity to travel and loved to see new sights and cities. He was dealing with many medical issues toward the end of his life but received excellent care from his physicians and other health care professionals. The family would like to extend appreciation to those who helped to care for him.

Uncle Mike was the pioneer to all the families and descendants who immigrated to Canada after him. He was and still is an inspiration for me. The bravery he had travelling abroad alone; and establishing the success over the years. It is no small feat for anyone. The pressure he had in early years include discrimination. I cherish the time working with him part-time in Guelph. And will never hesitate when he needed my assistance. I think only his health has prevent him from further his accomplishment. We used to have long conversations that wish will never ends.

He is a legend in our family; and will truly be missed. But the memories with him will be in our heart forever.

Our family has many wonderful memories of this gentle, caring man that we called "Uncle Mike". He was a good friend of my parents, Yin Ling and Lily Wong. Mike and Sirena spent many dinners and visits with my parents that were always filled with lively discussion and fun. He will be much missed and our thoughts are with Eliza and Victor during this stressful time.
Take care and big virtual hug from Emily and Michael Musing

I will miss you uncle Mike. Thank you for the conversations and the good memories. I remember my childhood years when we came to visit you in Guelph; it was always something I looked forward to. I look forward to the day when we're all together in the presence of our Lord Jesus. It's such a pleasure to know that you are with Dad and Grand Mother, and Great Grand Mother and our other aunt who is you sister... but I forgot her English name because I always referred to her Cantonese. :)
