In memory of

Mihaela Stanciu

October 18, 1961 -  October 10, 2023

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Mihaela Stanciu on Tuesday, October the 10th while at home surrounded by her family.

While Mihaela had faced many health scares over the past few decades, including two liver transplants, she had beat those challenges and came out stronger and more determined to make the very best of life.

Mihaela grew up in Romania and worked as a Lab Research Technician for the Chemical Research Institute of Ploiești. She had lost both of her parents at an early age and was determined and resilient in her path to make a good life for herself.

After she got married and had her only child, she knew she had to provide a better opportunity, as Romania was going through a challenging economic and political environment in the late 1980s.

So, once again with full strength and determination she immigrated to Canada in 1993. Mihaela worked various jobs so that she could provide that better life not only for herself, but now for her family as well.

After years of hard work and perseverance she remarried, rebuilt her life and was once again reunited with her son, Razvan, which she provided with the most care and love as she only knew what it was like to grow up without the support of her parents by her side.

She always gave her very best whether it was in her professional or personal life. Mihaela was also the type of person that never hesitated to put others before herself. Furthermore she was an amazing cook and enjoyed spoiling her family and friends with delicious foods and baked goods. It was so important to her to come together over a great meal and pause to catch up on our day. It brought us closer and made us stronger for it.

Mihaela was an incredibly loving, kind and gentle soul that touched the lives of all of those who had known her. She was the pillar of the family, a mother, a wife, and a dear friend to so many. She understood too well the fragility of life and how things could change in an instant and because of that she had a great appreciation for the simple things in life; the changing of the leaves colors in the fall (one of her favorite things), the waves and gentle breeze by the ocean and the time spent with those she loved most.

We will always treasure the wonderful memories we got to create and share with her over the years.

Rest in eternal peace, our guardian angel always. Mihaela is now reunited with her beloved parents and grandparents. You will always be remembered, cherished and loved.

Our family would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all those who have supported us during this difficult time. Thank you for your thoughts, kind words and prayers.

It would be wonderful if you could join us in the celebration and remembrance of Mihaela’s glorious life.

We are also so thankful for all of those who have donated in her memory and have helped with the funeral services and preparations.
