April 13, 1940 - December 11, 2021

Peacefully passed away after a long illness on December 11, 2021 surrounded by family. Michele will be missed dearly by his beloved wife Susan of 57 years, his loving son Andrew (Lucy), his loving daughter Gabriella (Dino), and cherished grandchildren Matthew, Marcus, and Alexandra. He is survived by his sisters Carmela, Maria, and Liberina, and his brothers Giovanni and Gabriele. He will be greatly missed by his many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was known for his sense of humour and was an excellent cook with a passion for gardening. He was born April 13,1940 in Ariano Irpino, Italy and completed an apprenticeship as a tailor and worked as a bespoke tailor in Windsor, England. After he moved to Toronto he worked for Alan Cherry and finished his illustrious career working for Tom’s Place.
The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at Mackenzie Health Hospital in Richmond Hill for their dedication and care. In addition, the family would like to thank Janet for her care and support.

A private family service will be held on Friday, December 17, 2021 at Elgin Mills Funeral Centre. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, proof of full vaccination and identification are required for all attendees.

Condolence messages and donations may be conveyed through this memorial page. If so desired, flowers may be sent to Elgin Mills Funeral Centre before 9 a.m. on Friday, December 17. Thank you for your understanding, kindness and support during this difficult time.

I’m very sad to hear that my Uncle Michele has passed away, and also that I didn’t get to know him much better.

From my short time with him in the past I know he was a good, hard working and generous family man with a sense of humour who loved his wife and children very much.

I sincerely hope that my Auntie Susan and her entire family are as well as can be expected, and that their grief is as short as possible.

I know my father ,Giovanni is also very sad at the loss of his brother, they would have both left their home in Italy at a very young age to have to seek out their fortunes in England.

It is unfortunate that my father is unable to put the concise words together that may explain his feelings, but he will be grieving over this loss.
