In memory of

Michael Stanley Caplice

September 29, 1927 -  May 28, 2019

Born in England of Irish and English parents Michael lead quite a life. Like many of the time he was separated from his parents during the war, but luckily he was able to stay close to his sister Christine and his brother.
He served in the Royal Air Force following WWII, then went on the become a carpenter like his father and brother John. When carpentry was not making ends meet, Michael returned to technical school and became a structural draftsman.
He would spend his free time playing rugby for the city team, darts and snooker at the local with friends.
In search of better things, Michael packed up his belongings and made way to Canada in the mid 1960's. Not long after arriving on these shores he met Joan, the woman who would become his wife and mother to the children.
Never one to rest; Michael's career took his skills all over Canada, he spent many years traveling and working on projects far and wide. In his 60's, Michael's love for reading and learning took him back to college again. This time he learned how to run the 'new' computer aided design machines that would transform his profession. He continued working into his 70's passing his knowledge down to the generation of engineers who were following in his footsteps.
Together with Joan he raised two sons (Kevin [Debbie] and Shawn [Fiona]), cared for numerous dogs, and was the proud grandfather to Nole and Ryley.
A fixture in their Mississauga community, when he was not engrossed in the Toronto Star or watching the Space Network he could be found on a long walk through the neighborhood with one of the dogs. Socializing with the neighbors, often stopping to share a beer on their driveways.

Sadly on May the 28th Michael left us to be reunited with Joan.
We miss them both terribly, but are happy that they are together again forevermore.

We request in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Humane Society in honor of Michael's love for the family's dogs. (Suzie, Koho, Pepper and Kita).

Dear Kevin & Shawn
We were so sorry to hear about the passing of your Dad. Wendy and I were away and unable to attend but want you to know that we are thinking of you at this time, Your Dad was always the quiet one, in the background, but always supportive. He was a true friend to everyone and will be remembered as such.
Now he is with your Mom and at peace.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your families.
