In memory of
Michael Noryzhny
June 8, 1949 -
August 19, 2022
Myhaylo Noryzhny, passed away at the age of 73 on August 19, 2022 due to brain cancer. Even in this uneven battle with unimaginable odds, he continued to be true to himself, always brave, courageous and strong. His strength, moral compass and ability to live the life to the fullest are only the few qualities that everyone who had met him remembers him by.
Myhaylo was born in Slabada Ukraine, he was the first in his family to attend university. He led a life of adventure and pursuit of better life, that took him from Ukraine, to Russia, back to Ukraine, Israel and finally settling with his family in Canada. Even though he was an avid traveller, his only true love, besides his beloved wife Inna, was Ukraine. It’s with this love for his birth place that he was able to pass down traditions, such as fishing, mushroom picking, gardening, pickling and cooking. His love for Ukraine will continue in his children and grandchildren. Age was but a number when it came to Myhaylo, he enjoyed active sports, biking, swimming, skiing right up to his diagnosis. Even during treatment he would not surrender and continued to exercise and lead an active life, inspiring everyone around him.
Myhaylo took pride in his work and how much he was able to achieve since his arrival to Canada. He was respected and valued for his knowledge and work ethic.
Myhaylo leaves behind a beloved wife Inna with whom he shares a life that spans 46 years full of love, joy, adventure, raising his two children Andrey and Anna and being the best deda to his grandchildren. He was not a man of many words, his actions always spoke for themselves.
Myhaylo leaves a legacy of a man that could only be beaten by a worse kind of disease, who fought to his last breath and inspired everyone who ever had a pleasure to be in his company. He will be greatly missed, but his memory, strength and love for everything this life has to offer will continue to live in his children and grandchildren.
