In memory of

Michael Nastamagos

October 29, 1939 -  February 17, 2021

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Michael Nastamagos on February 17th, 2021 who died peacefully at home surrounded by his family in North York.

Husband to his beloved wife Kathy, father to sons Harry and Sam, daughter-in-law Yolanda, and grandfather to his two greatest joys Hannah and Norah.

Mike lived a long and prosperous life after migrating from Northern Greece to Canada looking to forge a new life for his family. After arriving in Canada in 1962 he opened his first business, purchased his first house, and started a family all within his first five years of being in the country. From there, he continued to open several prosperous businesses to make a happy and comfortable life for his wife and two boys.

Mike loved to cook for his family and granddaughters. Sunday meals were his specialty, especially in the summer months when his backyard garden and abundant fruit trees were enjoyed with many memorable BBQs. He will be remembered for his hard work-ethic, boisterous voice, Macedonian-English mannerisms, love of food and drink, and most of all his love for family and Canada.

Mike has now joined his parents Maria and Harises, his brothers Spiro & Peter and sister Stavroula Nastamagos.

Condolences for the family may be made through the memorial website. If you wish, donations can be made to the Breakfast Club of Canada.

Apart from being a wonderful husband, father and grandfather, Michalis was also a wonderful uncle. He was our Thio Michali.
I owe great gratitude to God for giving me an uncle who was very generous and won you over from the first moment.
Always to ask, always to show interest, always to help.
Giving was one of his hallmarks. To give and to be happy when others were happy. That was our Thio.
Thank you for everything Thio Michali.
We will remember you forever because you will live in our souls.
May your soul rest in heaven.

Love you my teta, love you Samiche, Love you Harry, Love you Hannah, Love you Norche

We are deeply saddened by the passing of kind and gracious man. Mike, or affectionately “Sir”, was welcoming, generous and loving. He always gave good advice. I will miss those conversations - especially over Mike and Kathy’s dinner table. We are remembering the family in our prayers.
