Remembering a husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and great uncle - Michael Jung passed away peacefully at Kensington Gardens on June 27, 2025. He was 90 years old.

Born in Guangdong, China, he immigrated to Toronto, Canada when he was a teenager. When he first came to Canada, Michael was a waiter and later learned to be a bartender. He met and married his wife Nar Hing in 1958. Together, they lived within walking distance to "Old Chinatown" in Toronto and worked side by side at the family restaurant, Ding Ho in Scarborough. They raised three children Molly, Martin (Belinda) and Gary (Jenny). He is also a beloved grandfather to Talia, Stephen, Daniel and Bryan.

When he wasn't working, Michael can be found having a smoke, fixing something around the house, fishing in Dunnville, chauffeuring family and friends to wherever they needed to go, washing or tending to his car, listening to Chinese Opera or just enjoying a coffee from Tim Hortons, McDonalds or Krispy Kreme. He was a simple man and he loved to drive and took the family on more than a few road trips to Wasaga Beach, Detroit, Ottawa, Montreal, Chicago....

He was hardworking, soft-spoken, polite, friendly, loyal and helpful.

We will miss him dearly and will remember his quiet way of love.

A private funeral service will be held for the family at York Funeral Centre, 160 Beecroft Road, North York on Saturday July 5th, 2025 (9 am visitation and 10 am funeral). We would like you to join us for a lunch reception after the service.
