I am a friend of Karen's and had the privilege of meeting John "Buzzy" several times while I was visiting Karen at the family home. I was always impressed by John's love of nature and appreciation of the wildlife in his yard and in the Rouge. John knew each and every tree in the backyard and would always have a story about the latest activities of the wildlife making their home there. John maintained the family home with love and devotion and given the size of the yard and number of mature trees, this would have been a lot of work. May John rest in peace. My love to Karen, Vanessa, Gary and to everyone mourning the loss of "Buzzy".

We have lived across the street from the Buraks since 1978 and knew first Mike and Jean and then Buzzy and Karen as valued neighbours. Buzzy was proud of being a "West Rouger" and had a great store of knowledge about the neighbourhood, the people of the area past and present, and the wildlife that came across our properties as they moved to and from the Rouge valley each night. Most recently he was very interested in a pair of deer that he would often see around our houses. The light in his shop behind the garage was on through the night, every night, as he worked repairing the variety of music equipment that was brought to him. We will miss his presence as a key member of our community. We are grateful to have known him.
