In memory of

Michael Gordon Cork

May 25, 1954 -  March 8, 2022

Michael passed away in the early hours of March 8, 2022, leaving his beloved children Erin (Eric Silverberg), Nicole and Jordan heartbroken. A man of remarkable strength, courage and character who, in the last few years, faced multiple medical challenges most of which he heroically survived causing everyone around him to call him the man with nine lives, until his latest recurrence of laryngeal cancer. Dearly loved husband, partner, and best friend to Cathy McCallum. Proud and caring big brother and brother-in-law to Tim (Suzy) and David (Jenni Tipper). Mike was an unbelievably supportive and proud father to his three children. He was a selfless and caring man, who made everyone feel welcome and loved. His sense of humour, his story telling and charisma would light up the room almost as brightly as his fabulously genuine smile. Mike had the most incredible and loyal group of friends, many of whom were able to come to visit him over the past few weeks to say goodbye. To Jim, Devon, Sam, Greg and Walt, your concert in the living room was the best gift and truly showed Mike the depth of the many lives he touched. As Mike experienced the many medical bumps in the road, he was forever thankful for the care he received from the various medical teams – and gave back to them through his volunteerism at the Cardiac Centre – UHN Toronto Rehab and the Odette Centre at Sunnybrook. He loved and lived life to the fullest. Finding his happy place at his cottage on Stony Lake with his dog and playing numerous rounds at Wildfire with friends. A private family service will occur at the end of the month, followed in May with a celebration of life in Toronto, and in July on Stony Lake.

My sincerest condolences to you Cathy and all of Mike's relatives.
The fact that he continued to do volunteer work at the hospital as long as he did
speaks to his courage and selflessness.
When asked why he was doing volunteer work?"To give back"
I really feel your loss.He was a very kind and helpful person to me.
For example,Mike often assisted me if my attempt at self deprecating humor
needed some help!
