Merrick Adolphus Atkinson

January 20, 1968 -  October 30, 2022

Merrick Atkinson, 54 years of Richmond Hill, passed away on October 30, 2022 after a long journey of over a year of life support due to Covid and rehab thereafter.

Merrick was born on January 20, 1968 to Veronica Atkinson and Ernel Atkinson in Jamaica. After high school in the 1980’s, he went to work in the restaurant service industry and then later on in life decided to enter the bus industry where he was complimented on his professionalism and his sheer caring for those he helped get around.

In 1988, Merrick met Kathy Hashchak in Calgary, Alberta. Merrick and Kathy went on to have 2 children, Alicia Atkinson and Erricka Atkinson.

Merrick was predeceased by his father, Ernel Atkinson. He survived by his wife, Kathy Hashchak, his daughters, Alicia and Erricka Atkinson, his grandchildren, Lilly Colavecchia, Lorenzo Colavecchia, and Isla McBain

Services will be held at ELGIN MILLS FUNERAL CENTRE, 1591 Elgin Mills Rd. E., Richmond Hill on November 19, 2022 at 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the CANCOV UHN research project.
