In memory of
Men Keo Tang
September 15, 1946 -
October 30, 2020
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loving mother, Men Keo Tang on October 30, 2020. After a short battle with cancer, Men Keo passed away peacefully in her own home with her children by her side.
She is survived by her five children: Mindy, Chinet, Ping (Peter), Kiang and Phing (Sam); and 9 grandchildren: Viviane, Angel, Marcus, Christopher, Alexander, Jiliane, Michael, and the twins, Celine, and Jolene. Men Keo will forever be remembered by her extended family members as well as many dear friends. Men Keo joins her loving husband, Sui Meng who predeceased her in May 2018.
Men Keo loved each one of her children unconditionally and sacrificed everything for their well-being, including leaving a good and stable life by immigrating to Canada in 1980 to give her children unlimited opportunities and a better future. She instilled in her children and grandchildren a sense of individualism with love, compassion, and responsibility for family and society.
Men Keo love of cooking was demonstrated by learning different cuisines from around the world and adding her own twist whether she had a recipe or not, and many got to enjoy her unique creations with some success. Her thirst for knowledge made her more aware of different traditional Chinese remedies and cures (mostly self-taught) which were used on common illnesses which she was more than happy to share with everyone.
She was well-travelled and enjoyed numerous trips with her children and grandchildren to many parts of the world such as various US States and Caribbean Islands as well as Japan, Singapore, Thailand, China and she particularly loved returning to her home country Malaysia, to connect with all her extended family and friends.
Men Keo will be remembered as a mother, a grandmother, an aunt, a grandaunt, a friend who never hesitated to help others, and did so with opened arms and heart.
A small and private celebration of life will be held for the immediate family on Friday, November 6.
