With deep sorrow, we announce the loss of Melvin George Smith, who passed away on January 22nd, 2024, at Toronto General Hospital.

Melvin was the beloved husband of Judy (nee McNaughton), a loving father to Janice and David (Jennifer), and a proud grandfather to Matthew and Emily. He is remembered fondly as a brother to sisters Lois (Bob) and the late Freda, and son of the late Freda and Melvin. He held a special place in the hearts of his nieces and nephews.

Professionally, Melvin was a respected Chartered Accountant and a successful Financial Advisor on Bay Street. He was passionate about his family, always ready with a playful trick of finding a five-dollar bill behind his grandchildren’s ears. An enthusiastic golfer, Melvin enjoyed sports and fantasy baseball and was an active member of the Bayview Golf and Country Club, where he formed many lasting friendships.

He will be greatly missed by family and friends.

A memorial service will be held Friday April 5th between the hours of 1:00pm to 3:00pm at Bayview Golf and Country club.
