In memory of

May Yet-Wah Seto

April 25, 2020

May Yet-Wah Seto, age 52, returned to the Lord on April 25, 2020 after being diagnosed with terminal cancer 7 months earlier. During her time of illness, she rediscovered her relationship with God after running away from him the past several years. Though she was afraid to die, her faith in Jesus gave her peace.

May was born September 1967 in Toronto, Ontario to Choy Nin and Chu Ling Seto. Diagnosed with cerebral palsy at birth, she learned to fight for many things at an early age and that was evident in her character and how she strived to be independent. She worked hard in her career, taking many courses to advance her learning and knowledge in the insurance/health industry. She considered herself blessed to have worked for 30 years.

May was stubborn, but deep down she had a big childlike heart. Though she had differences with her parents, her primary caretakers, she loved them deeply and did her best to look after them in her own way. She also loved her brother very much and loved being an aunt to her nephews and niece, often referencing them as her “baby”. An avid reader, she loved to share books with her oldest nephew Nathan.

May was kind and friendly to everyone she met. She was authentic to those around her, and she was not afraid to let others know what she thought. She had a large grin and many friendships. She appreciated spending time with the people God placed in her life, including her aunts, uncle, cousins and their families, colleagues, and church friends.

May is survived by her parents, her brother Norman and his wife Judy, and their children Nathan, Jadon and Joelle.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to all who cared and prayed for May especially during her illness. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the webcasting will start on Saturday May 2, 2020 at 9:00 AM with the funeral service starting at 9:15. The weblink on the day of service is "https://www.mountpleasantgroup.com/Find-Services?findservice=may yet-wah seto". In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made in May's name to "The Palliative Care Unit," in care of The Sunnybrook Foundation at https://donate.sunnybrook.ca/tribute or to VHA Playdate at https://www.vha.ca/playdate (please note in memory of May in the Message For VHA Home Healthcare)

May has blessed me personally with her openness which has allowed us to minister to her and be true companions on the last leg of her earthly journey.
In the Father’s arms, May, you have answers to all your questions and rest in eternal peace.

Hello Seto Family,

Very sorry to hear of May's passing. I thank God for the privilege of knowing her all these years - I will always cherish those memories of spending time with her at NTCBC, Jaffray church, and Princess Margaret. May the peace of God, through our Lord Jesus Christ, comfort you in this time.

Arthur
