In Loving Memory of Mathew Junkert
April 25, 1973 – July 3, 2025
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mathew Junkert on July 3rd, 2025, at the age of 52. Born in Richmond Hill on April 25th, 1973, Mathew spent most of his life in Oak Ridges, where he built a life filled with love, laughter, and deep devotion to those closest to him.
Mathew was a proud father to his daughter, Taylor, and a loyal companion to his beloved dog, Maverick. His quick wit and easygoing spirit will be remembered by all who knew him.
Mathew had a lifelong passion for hockey both watching and playing and was a dedicated Toronto Maple Leafs fan through thick and thin. He found joy in reading, listening to music, and spending time with Maverick, who rarely left his side.
He is predeceased by his parents, Manfred and Rose Junkert, and his brother, Mark Junkert. Though gone too soon, Mathew’s memory lives on through the stories, laughter, and love he leaves behind.
He will be deeply missed and forever in our hearts.

Dear Taylor,
I am so sad to hear about the passing of your father. I know you don't know me but I have known your Dad, Matt since he was seven years old. Our family and your dad's family spent many Christmas eves together, many dinner parties and many wonderful times together.

Just remember Love never dies your father's love for you is everlasting! Hold onto all the wonderful memories that the two of you shared!

I'm completely in shock. You've kept the messages flowing keeping me up to date with Stacy and we were going to get together up here at my camp. I'm so sad we didn't get this done. Stacy and I will complete this visit and reminisce of the good old days. RIP Matt, you were always a pure sweet heart ❤️
