Someone has said that if you can count your true friends on the fingers of one hand, you are blessed. Well, I was blessed to have Mike as my friend for 60 years or so. Mike looked at me many times at my worst times in life and he still hung with me. I was blessed to have Mike as my friend and he was my best man at my wedding. I am very saddened by his passing and I send condolences and prayers to his family and friends. Sincerely...Ron Cosma.

Sincerest condolences on the passing of my dear friend Mike. Mike was a very close friend of my late brother Mits Nishimura who passed away in 2009. May they both get together again in that friendly bar in the sky.

Sorry to hear about Mike's passing. I am glad that we got one last trip to Las Vegas together a few years back. His ability to fall asleep anywhere anytime was amazing. I'll miss him, but not his snoring.

Mike looked forward to our annual birthday and Christmas gathering that Alan, Gail and Kathy planned for us each year before Covid. We went to different venues (with Casinos in mind). They took us to different attractions like the Skylan Tower (rotates for supper), different Japanese restaurants (of course) or see the magician, Greg Fruin. We liked going to Christmas and magic shows.

Another place we enjoyed going to was Fern Valley near Rama for dinner. We always had a euchre game at night which made it a great night.

Harry and Tammy would visit us twice a year. We would have supper, which Kathy & Gail cooked.

Mike mentioned he was sorry he couldn't do these things this year and missed it. We always had a great time together.

Mike was born in Vancouver. During WW2 his brother, sisters and mother were moved to the ghost town of Slocan. Father was sent to interment camp. After the war the family moved to Scarborough where he (father) worked for Lever Brothers in the mushroom farm. They then moved to Oakville where he worked on a farm. Eventually the family moved to Bradford owning land in the Holland Marsh. After finishing high school Mike moved to Toronto....later becoming a chartered accountant.

Mike always liked going for dim sum. We would order more than we could eat and it was delicious

There were times he would like to go to the casino at the last minute

His trip to the NWT with friends was one of the highlights he experienced...as you can see from the pictures of the big fishes he caught

He enjoyed his trips to Cuba with his friend Roy and another couple

Will miss him....RIP

Uncle Mike was a mentor and a friend. Many times we bounced our life problems off the other, looking for guidance. There was usually some laughs and some drinks in the process, the way it should be....

Everytime you saw Uncle Mike he was laughing and smiling, which brightened your day. He always thought about others and brought joy to many.

He will be dearly missed.
