In memory of

Marie Olivia Morrow

May 30, 1933 -  January 29, 2022

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Marie Olivia Morrow (nee Hogan) on Saturday, January 29, 2022. Marie passed peacefully at her home, where she raised her seven children with her husband of 68 years, Jack, surrounded by her loved ones.

Marie was born on May 30, 1933, to Peter and Effy (Sophie) Hogan in New Waterford, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. On that day, the world became a little brighter.

Marie is survived by her husband Jack, her children, David (Ruth), Garry, Debbie Morgan (Robert), Doug (Sherrine), Michael, Jeffrey (Vera) and Jimmy (Sue), whom she adored. Marie was also the most wonderful Nana to her 11 grandchildren, Jennifer, Jacqueline, Stephanie, Leslie, Nick, Andrew, Garrett, Corey, Melissa, Reese, Makyla and her 12 great-grandchildren Sydney, Brandon, Tyler, Ashlyn, Rory, Cohen, Payton, Lennon, Brooks, Hutch, Mason and Marlow. She also leaves behind her sister-in-law Jeannine Hogan, many nieces and nephews and her lifelong friend Ann Stacey. She was cherished by all.

Marie was predeceased by her parents, her brothers, Dennis Chiasson, Albert Hogan, Cyril Hogan, Nick Hogan, and sisters, Bernadette Heffernan, Helen Macdowall, and Rita Chiasson.

Marie was incredibly warm, funny, smart, devoted, kind and a little curious. More than anything, she loved spending time with her family, enjoying over 60 summers together at the cottage they owned in the Beehive Park Estates. Her positive attitude was infectious to all who knew and loved her. She lived by the rule if you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all. She will be forever loved and forever remembered.

There will be no visitation, due to Covid-19 restrictions, a private family service will be held at a future date in the spring.

Memorial donations in Marie’s name can be made to Durham Outlook for the Needy New

And then there are none..Marie has a memorable soft and lovely voice that I’ll never forget. When she spoke-you we’re soothed. She was there when her Brother Albert died with Jack at her side as always -“And then there were two” she said-in that voice and we all felt better. She’ll continue to be loved now back with her Family where up there they’ll finally be whole again💚

My father will be so happy to see you again; two peas in a pod, all your brothers and sisters reunited with nana, gramps and the rest of our family members that have blessed our lives and passed too soon. We love you always and you will be missed. Until we meet again.
