In memory of

Mary Kosanovich

September 2, 1928 -  May 7, 2023

Mary (Marica) Kosanovich, a devoted mother, grandmother, and active member of the Serbian Orthodox Church, has passed away on May 7th, 2023, at the age of 94.

Mary was born on September 2nd 1928, in Bajmok, Yugoslavia, and later immigrated to Canada in 1957 to marry Milan Kosanovich. Together they had two daughters, Anka and Milena. Mary's husband passed away in 1972, and she devoted her life to raising her children as a single mother.

Mary was a hardworking woman and spent her working career providing meals for children in daycare. She loved children and had a special place in her heart for her grandchildren, Michael and Jessica.

Mary was an active member of the Serbian Orthodox Church, where she volunteered with the Circle of Serbian Sisters - "Kolo Srpskih Sestara". She was passionate about her faith and took great pride in her Serbian heritage.

Mary was known for her kind and generous nature. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend to all who knew her. Her love and care for others knew no bounds, and she was always willing to lend a helping hand.

Mary's passing has left a void in the hearts of those who loved her. She will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched.

A funeral service for Mary will be held at York Cemetery, where her husband Milan is buried. Her family invite all who knew her to come and pay their respects to a woman who touched so many lives with her kindness and love.

Mary loved animals and in lieu of flowers please make a donation to an Animal rescue in your area.

Milena, Anka, primite nase soucesce. The many fond memories of our families together over the decades will be everlasting. This is but another stepping stone in life.

Serbstvo has taught me many wonderful things, most importantly how we are all connected, past, present and future.
