In memory of

Mary Fernandes

January 6, 1927 -  May 21, 2022

Mary Fernandes went Home to the Lord on May 21, 2022, at the age of 95.

Mary was born on January 6th, 1927, in Mapusa, Goa. She met her husband, Sebastian, in Goa. They were blessed with their children Jeanette, Laeticia, Grace, Virginia, and Matthew. They resided in Bombay and later in Mississauga, where lifelong friends surrounded them around every corner. They actively volunteered in the community and focused their love and attention on raising their family and being active members of the Church.
In addition to being a dedicated and loving wife & mother, Mary was a Grandmother . She was always known for living her life for her grandchildren; Michelle, Daniel, Angelo, Maria, Savio, John, Eden, Andre, and Amanda. She was always cooking their favourite dishes, teaching them about prayer and the Bible, and playing and giving all her free time to them.
She joins her Husband, Sebastian, in Heaven, where they are sure to be spending their days together. Her positive outlook, generous spirit, and kind heart left an impression wherever she went. She never met a stranger that didn't quickly become a friend and her maternal love led her to be called “Mama” by all. Mama– you will always be loved and never forgotten. May your loving soul rest in peace.

William Rodrigues (Close friend of the family)

Entered May 26, 2022 from Auckland New Zealand

Aunty Mary was my Mums best friend in Bandra Mumbai and our families met at the time I was admitted to kindergarten in 1962.
Our families have been in contact with each other eversince. I am very grateful and thankful to Uncle Saby who gave me free tuitions when I was struggling in Junior school. Her son Matthew was my class mate and we always kept in touch. For this reason I flew to Missisauga and met her in June 2017. Aunty Mary was excited to see me and enquired about my family in NZ. Since then I called her regularly and kept in touch keeping her in my daily prayers so the Lord would give her a long life and keep her healthy and safe.
On 21st May I got a text message from Matthew saying his Mum had gone to heaven
I immediately called the family and gave them my sympathies and condolences.
Aunty Mary you will always be in my daily prayers and may you rest and peace with Our Lord Jesus Christ 🙏🏻
