In memory of

Mary Dorline Gerovac

December 10, 1932 -  July 12, 2019

We've all been told that thunder is merely the angels bowling in heaven. If this is the case then another Angel has just joined the team. After years of scouting Mary Dorline Gerovac the angels have decided they would be far better served with her on the team. On Friday July 12 in the a.m. Mary was called up and, with family by her side in support, she peacefully answered that call. We now expect a much louder than usual season of thunder storms to follow.
Mary D. Gerovac (nee Oster) was the loving wife of the late Steve Gerovac. Devoted mother of Kathleen Gerovac~husband Stephan, Gary Gerovac~wife Mary J. and the late James Gerovac~wife Paula. Grandmother to Meghan~ husband Mike Boyd, Michelle, Jake and Jorden Gerovac and great-grandmother to Charlize Boyd.
Mary was born in Toronto York to Herbert and Kathleen (nee Hails) Oster. She was the 5th born of 17 children. She will be sadly missed by her 5 surviving siblings Margaret Walsh~Fred, George Oster~Pat, Dennis Oster~Elizabeth, Steve Oster, Muriel Porter~Ron.

R.I.P. my Dear Sister, boy have you left behind so many wonderful memories to keep me reflecting back with chuckles, especially my favourite sister time together..
Oh my goodness You, Vera & Muriel had me in stitches & the interesting family history & stories kept me wide eyed ... I think you all rather enjoyed seeing the shock & of course comical side of some events on my face...lol
Yep, these were my most favourite times for sure.
I so admired your strength as I got older & new more of life skills... I wld reflect back to when you lost your husband at such a young age, how strong & determined you were to give your all as you faced the biggest & most important task of your life & raised your 3 young children on your own. You worked hard and asked for nothing...and did a fantastic job.
Looking back at your strength & determination, just as our own Mother had to do, I obviously learnt some very valuable skills from the best on what wld also be a task as a single Mom for me as well..
Thank You for that life lesson!
I'm going to miss our loooooong telephone chats & your most amazing bake goods..you definitely were the cookie Queen & those butter tarts & pies....no words, just, mmm,mm,mm
My heart is broken 💔 with you leaving us but in all honesty Mary, It pained me to see you decline, I can only be happy for you no longer suffering yet my selfishness wants you still here to teach me some more....
Knowing you are now above with many of the family, your beloved Steve & son Jamie, comforts my heart so much....
I know you all are smiling & catching up on so much.
I Love You with My Whole Heart & then some,
Rest peacefully sweet Mary & I'll be seeing you on the other side.💖
Baby Sis Margie 💔💐😘🙏

The strangest thing happened this morning. You, your daughter Kathy and Son in Law Steve crossed my mind today of all days and just came to realize the bad news. Perhaps you were saying goodbye in your own way? I haven't seen any of you since about 1996 when we moved from our old neighborhood. Even though we were neighbors many years ago on Chryessa Avenue, you all treated us so nicely when we were kids and we have nothing but great memories of your family. You had a wonderful smile and a spirit to match. My condolences to Kathy and the rest of the family. May you, Mary always be remembered.

Our deepest condolences go to Gary, Mary, Meaghan, Mike and Charlize and Michelle and Robert. We know your mom/grandma is in a better home. We are thinking of you and wish we could be by your side at this time. Take the time to reminisce and share much laughter of the good times you all recall. Biggest hugs and lots of love.

Very sad to hear of your passing. You leave behind many lifetime memories, mainly while growing up on Chryessa, as a neighbour and Mother to my best friend,Gary. You were a cherished friend to my mother, Nadine, and you 2 shared a lot of good times. From getting together at Christmas with neighbours, to just sitting out the front sharing a drink and a smoke together talking about whatever came to mind. From playing euchre regularly with the ladies to taking a trip to Hawaii., picnics and Wasaga Beach .
Rest In Peace Mary Gerovac, or, as you will always be remembered by me as......Mrs, Gerovac, !
