In memory of

Mary Doris Abela

February 11, 1925 -  January 20, 2019

It is with a feeling of deep sorrow and loss that I announce the passing of Mary Doris Abela (nee England), aged 93, on Sunday, January 20, 2019, at Leamington Memorial Hospital, after a short battle with pneumonia. Doris (Dolly) leaves behind two daughters, Joanne Abela, and Antoinette Abela, her grand-daughter, Amy Abela, and great grand-children, Joseph, Jasmine, and Gabriela, as well as her sisters Emma Busuttil (nee England), and Lillian Wismayer (nee England), and brothers-in-law Joseph and Alex Wismayer, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Dolly was serious, quiet, and intelligent, face always buried in a book, but she was also observant, kind, and compassionate. She never uttered a bad word about anybody, in fact, one of her favourite sayings was 'if you have nothing good to say, say nothing'. She always knew when something was bothering someone and was always willing to listen. Her kindness, empathy, and humour will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society of Canada would be appreciated.
