Marvin Gayle age 47, passed away unexpectedly on August 28, 2026, in the Muskoka Lakes in Ontario.
Born on April 6, 1979, in Kingston, Jamaica, Marvin brought his vibrant spirit and warm heart to Canada when he moved in 1992. He was a deeply spiritual man who believed in God and found his closest connection to the Creator while immersed in nature. He was an avid outdoorsman who found peace and joy hiking quiet trails, canoeing on Canada's still waters, and tending to his garden. As a talented chef, he poured his heart and creativity into his craft, showing his love by bringing people together around the table. Marvin was also generous with his time and always willing to help. He found purpose in volunteering and supporting people in need, and he extended that same care and loyalty to the many people he lovingly called family.
Above all his passions, Marvin’s greatest love was his family—a circle that included not only those related to him, but also the many people he welcomed into his heart and lovingly called family. He showed that love through his willingness to help, volunteer his time, and stand beside others in need. He was a deeply devoted husband to his wife, Karen, and a proud, loving father. He leaves behind a beautiful legacy in his three sons: his two adult sons, Javaire and Julius, with whom he shared a lifetime of pride and wisdom, and his 6-year-old son, Matthais (Matt), whose days he filled with laughter and adventure. His generosity, loyalty, and gift for making others feel cared for will live on in all whose lives he touched.
His family takes comfort in their faith, knowing that he is resting peacefully in God's hands until they meet again.
He is survived by his wife, his three sons, his mother Theresa Headley, his brothers Andre Headley, Andre Gayle, Dwayne Gayle and Jevaughn Gayle, and his sisters Jodi-Ann Gayle, Jamie-Lee Gayle, and Janeil Gayle. He was predeceased by his father, Willie Gayle.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a GoFundMe page established to help with funeral costs and support a memorial fund for his youngest son. Donations may also be sent directly, without fees, by e-transfer to karendann@rogers.com.
Marvin will be remembered for his generous heart, his deep faith, his love of nature, and the joy he brought to those around him. Though his passing leaves an immeasurable emptiness, his spirit will continue to live on through the love, memories, and lasting impact he leaves with his family and all who knew him.
