In memory of

Marlene Louks

November 2, 1948 -  July 8, 2023

Marlene Lynn Louks, age 74, of Brampton, ON, passed away on July 8, 2023 after a courageous five-year battle with cancer.

Marlene was born on November 2, 1948 to Eva and Leslie Cogger in Toronto, ON. Marlene met her husband Wayne through the High Park Tennis & Ski Club and they married in 1976. After starting their family in Toronto they relocated to Brampton where they set their roots and raised four children.

Family was everything to Marlene, she loved to have everyone together to celebrate any occasion. Music, notably Bob Marley, Bon Jovi & Rod Stewart were amongst her favorites, usually playing in the background during family events. She was a passionate Toronto Maple Leafs fan who was holding out hope for the Leafs to win the Cup!

Marlene, an only child, was predeceased by her parents. She is survived and will be deeply missed by her loving husband Wayne and four children; daughter Erin (Chris) Logan, daughter Breanne (Todd) Griffin, daughter Shannon (Jill) Moss and son Korey Louks as well as her six grandchildren; William, Maeve, Kinsley, Jacob, Maisie & Addie.

The family wishes to thank the oncology team at Brampton Civic Hospital for the guidance and care over the last five years throughout Marlene’s cancer journey. The family also wishes to thank the staff and many volunteers at Bethell Hospice in Inglewood that helped create such a loving, peaceful home away from home for Marlene, she received wonderful end of life care by the incredible team. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to be made as a Gift in Memory to Bethell Hospice Foundation.

A small private ceremony will take place on July 19, 2023. A Celebration of Life will occur in September, any family or friends wishing to join and celebrate the incredible woman Marlene was should reach out to the family for details.
