Marko Hasou (February 14, 1939 - March 27, 2025)
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Marko Hasou, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who left us peacefully on March 27 2025. Born in the vibrant city of Istanbul, Turkey, on February 14, 1939, to Francois and Francoise Hasou, Marko’s life like his parents was a testament to resilience, generosity, and love.
Marko’s journey took him from the bustling streets of Istanbul to the welcoming shores of Toronto, Canada, where he embarked on a new chapter with his beloved wife, Luisa Hasou and his children. At the age of 40, he bravely rebuilt his life, establishing a distinguished goldsmith business that flourished for over 60 years. His expertise and passion for the craft were shared generously, as he mentored and empowered countless individuals, helping them to forge their own paths in the jewelry trade.
A man of extraordinary generosity, Marko’s kindness extended far beyond his professional life. He cultivated friendships that spanned the globe, always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need. He was a pillar of strength for his family, a loving father to his Franco Hasou and Marta Medeiros-Hasou and Joseph Hasou, and a cherished grandfather to Marcus, Julia, Gian-Franco, Alexandro, Mateo.
Marko was a family man at heart, deeply devoted to his wife, Luisa, and his sons. He provided steadfast support and unwavering love, creating a strong foundation for his family in their new home after having left a successful business in Turkey. He also held a special place in his heart for his siblings, Pol Hasou and Rita Seyrekoglu who he now joins both in heaven and only surviving sibling Piero Hasou.
He embraced life with enthusiasm, making friends effortlessly wherever he went, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he encountered. His sweet smile, warmth, wisdom, and unwavering spirit will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Marko’s legacy of love, generosity, and craftsmanship will forever be cherished in the hearts of his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched. He will never be forgotten.

Marko was such a kind and funny man. He was always checking in with me and making really dry observational jokes. I love him very much. My condolences to Luisa and Franco and Joe and everyone else in the family. We'll all miss him together.
