In memory of

Mark Sim

September 12, 1972 -  May 25, 2018

It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Mark Sim in Toronto, Canada at the age of 45. Mark is survived by his father, Steven Sim, his sisters Pui Sim (Trevor Salfarlie) and Kim Paganelli (Gabriele), his nieces and nephew Sabrina, Elisa, Marco, Taylor and Dylan, his aunts and uncle Boen Lang Sim, Boan Ping Sim and Eric Sim and his cousins Eugenia, Max, Geoffrey, Monica and Selene. He is preceded in death by his mother, Kai Tuan Sim. Mark was born on September 12, 1972 in Penang, Malaysia. He moved to Toronto at a very young age and attended schools in the North York area. He was a talented craftsman who worked in the custom upholstery business and also spent numerous years as a successful salesman in the media solutions industry. Mark enjoyed spending time with his family, but in particular with his nieces and nephew. We will all remember his kindness, generosity, compassion and sense of humor. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations made in Mark’s memory to CAMH (the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health).

We are so deeply sorry and send condolences. Mark was a wonderful, caring human being and I have such great memories! Mark used to horse around with his nieces and nephew and would include Adrian, my son. I remember one day hearing lots of noise, I went into the back room at Pui's apartment and Adrian was literally on Mark's head and he was rolling around on the bed with all of the nieces and nephew. He was so full of life and loved the kids. You will be missed. Soar high Mark and be with your mother. With all our love Tami and Bruce.

Mark was genuinely one of the kindest people I’ve had the pleasure of knowing. He remembered every birthday, and was always incredibly thoughtful. His nieces and cousins loved being around him, and he brightened up every family meal. Mark will be greatly missed.

I remember Mark more as a cheerful, good looking and lively teenager. After many years, feeling grateful that he had become a loving and caring son towards his mom, who was my aunt, especially when she was feeling ill.
We were not ready for his sudden death at his age.
Moving forward he does not need to cope with all the stresses and solve all the problems any longer. May he rest in peace. He will be greatly missed!
May his dad and the cousins' families, be strong.

Love from Im and family.
