In memory of

Marjorie Viola Evans

March 21, 1924 -  December 4, 2020

Marjorie Evans, our amazing Mom was 96 years young when she passed away. Mom had an incredible life filled with love, family and a desire to learn and experience new things. She was a partner in life with our Dad William, Mom to Susan, Robert, Margaret and Jim, a special Aunt, grandmother and great grandmother. Mom was a homemaker and for that we are forever grateful as she made our house a home and was always there when we needed her and ready to help in any way. Her free time was filled with recreational and educational classes, volunteer work, travel and family. She was a “happy hooker” as her rug hooking group called themselves and the walls at home are filled with her beautiful works of art. Her life was not always easy but Mom made it look that way and never backed away from what had to be done. She instilled in all of us her strength of will and assurance that everything would work out okay. Mom used this strength and managed with much love and care to remain in her home until her passing following a brief stay in the hospital. Dad passed away at the young age of 71 after illness and much care at home. They are now back together and sharing lost time with each other and all those who left her circle of life before her. We will miss her beautiful smile but she is in our hearts, our souls and our memories. We will think of her out on the front lawn with her telescope and binoculars each time we look up at the night sky. Love you - bye for now Mom.
Donations to the charity of your choice or the Alzheimer Society would be most appreciated.

To Sue, Bob, Margaret & Jim,

My deepest sympathy for the passing of your mom.

I took up rug hooking because I loved the gorgeous hooked rugs she made, they were works of art, especially her sculptured ones (she had a lot of patience to make them, I tried making a small sculptured rug and realized it would be the only one I would ever make)!

I have fond memories of all the great times we spent together at your house, your cottage, (I found out later) your family being forced to play board and card games with me, the hooking club, the Christmas trees (and cute gift wrapping – although some of that was really your dad’s wrapping), the continual pots of tea warming that would burn out your stove top burners, evening cocktails, and of course your Barbados suntans!

May great memories and lots of pictures remind you of the happy times you spent together!

Your mom was a kind and loving person whom I shall miss so very much. She was like a second mother to me. I have numerous wonderful memories over our 60 year relationship that I will cherish. Our families were brought together through different events that made our bonds stronger. Your mom was always there with a laugh and a smile that could always brighten your day. Take hold of all of those amazing memories and be comforted that she is with your dad and I'm know will always be watching over you.
Love Denise and Gerry
