MARJORIE GLADYS VENTON

Marjorie passed away peacefully on February 5, 2018 surrounded by her family, a few weeks shy of her 93rd birthday. Loving wife of the late Howard Thompson Venton, much loved mom to Lyn (Frank) and Kathleen, beloved grandmother to Jordan and Geneva, and dear sister to Joan Ashbee, with whom she had a loving friendship. Marjorie had a strong belief in her faith which defined her life and carried her through her final days. Marjorie was an avid reader, staying up into the early hours of the morning to finish a good book. And in later years, with diminished eyesight, enjoyed many hours listening to audio books. She loved to travel, and was able to cross the globe many times well into her later years. Dear to her heart was her Irish heritage and her family in both Ireland and Scotland. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends, who take solace in knowing she has found peace. Her family also wants to thank deeply the care and support given by her many care givers over the last few years as her health declined. She loved your careful commitment to her and the stories you brought. Family and friends are invited to Pine Hills Funeral Centre for visitation followed by a service on Saturday February 10, 2018 at 2:30 pm with visitation 1 hour prior. Donations, lieu of flowers, can be made to the Toronto Public Library Foundation, which fulfilled Marjorie's deep passion of reading throughout her life.
