In memory of

Marilynn Ann Cawkell

August 18, 1933 -  December 14, 2021

Marilynn Ann Cawkell – passed away peacefully at Michael Garron Hospital on Tuesday December 14, 2021. Marilynn was the dearly beloved spouse of the late Frank (1997), mother to Frank (Jr) and the late Andrew (1961). Beloved grandmother to Chris, Jaclynn, Samantha and William and great grandmother (‘G’) to Myles and Wyatt. Dear sister to the late Warren (Gee) and sister in-law to William (Cawkell) and to predeceased Ken (Cawkell), Moyra (Tighe), Michael (Cawkell) along with their respective spouses/partners Diane, Lou (deceased), Linda (& Ron), and Barbara. She was also the loving Aunt to 21 nieces and nephews and their respective children. She will be missed by all her family and her many friends and colleagues.

Marilynn was a principled lady and always believed in doing the right thing, and doing it the right way. She went out of her way to ensure this happened, both in her own actions and in those of others. She certainly was not shy in telling you what she thought and why you should do it. Then she “coached” you through it. She also had a profound love of family and cherished the joy it brought, again to her and to others. She was inclusive in all she did and enjoyed having a good time with her friends and her family. This interaction with her will be sorely missed and reflected on everyone she touched.

She is at rest now, and in our thoughts. She will be watching over us all as we know and guiding us in our ways.

Our condolences to the entire Cawkell family. Marilyn and I (Cathie) were friends for many years and in the later years became a close friend with my Daughter Charlotte also. We shared many an evening over dinner accompanied with, music, wine and oh so much laughter, she was an interesting story teller. I referred to her as my movie friend, it was our favourite thing to do until we found it was too difficult to access the cinema stairs and seats. We loved to share our books and discuss them. Her favourite subject or course was her family, each and everyone having a special place in her heart. Phone calls had to suffice over the last year as we moved away to cottage country. Charlotte "always" was able to get her laughing which was always good to hear and would end on a happy note. We will miss her terribly, she was a special friend but we are glad she is at peace and her struggles are over.
With love and affection - her friends,
Cathie and Charlotte (bye Mar) xo
