Marie Egyptienne Compton, affectionately known to all as Marjorie or Madge, passed away leaving behind a legacy of laughter, warmth, and enduring friendship. Born on April 3, 1939, in St. Lucia to her beloved mother, Fenella Compton.
Madge brought a bright and joyful spirit into the world from the very beginning.
In 1961, Madge embarked on a new chapter, migrating to Canada where she was a dedicated and hard worker, beginning her career at Simpsons before transitioning to Sears Canada, where she worked faithfully until her well-earned retirement.
Beyond her work, Madge’s true passion was people. She possessed a natural warm and easygoing personality. Madge made friends effortlessly, building deep, meaningful connections that stood the test of time. Her home was always a hub of hospitality
alongside her mother, Fenella. Madge loved nothing more than opening her doors to family and friends, hosting lively and unforgettable gatherings for Boxing Day, New Year’s Day, and Canada Day.
Madge’s laughter and vibrant energy will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She leaves behind a family who adored her, including her loving daughter Beverley, cherished grandsons, Jamall and Kadeem; her dear cousins, David Compton, Felix Compton, Angel Compton, Maria Compton, Bert Compton, and Cherina St. Clair Emmanuel; as well as a vast circle of lifelong friends who became family.
