With heartfelt sorrow we announce the passing of Maria Van der Linde on Sunday March 16, 2025, at the age of 92 years. Our cherished mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully at Hillsdale Terraces in Oshawa with family by her side.
Maria was the devoted wife of the late Johannas (1986) and loving mother to their children. Hennie Albero (Anello), Nellie Custoza (Carmelo), Mary Albis (Carmen), Jeannie Martin (Bob), the late Rick Vanderlinde (Brenda), Nancy Davies (Craig) and Joe Vanderlinde (Linda). Most treasured Oma of 19 Grandchildren and 43 Great Grandchildren. Maria is survived by many cherished family members in Holland. Maria was loved by all who knew her.
Maria will be remembered for her kind heart, strong will and fiery spirit. Maria had a great sense of humour, and her comments were always unfiltered, we loved that we never knew what she was going to say next. Maria was a huge fan of WWE wrestling; she loved cheering and yelling and it was always on the TV when we visited. Maria loved and adored all animals. She was the grown-up version of Snow White, trying to save all the forest animals.
She may have left us, but our hearts will be filled with the love she shared for us and the many memories we will cherish. We will all miss you deeply and your angel wings are ready to fly!!!
