Carmo Silva died, in her 90’th year after a lengthy illness, on August 26 2016, in Mississauga, Ontario, having lived a full and eventful life.

Carmo was born October 10, 1925 in Lisbon Portugal, to Maria da Ressurreição Lino dos Santos and Joaquim Pinto dos Santos. On Nov 20th 1957, she married Henrique da Silva and together they raised their four children in Lisbon, Portugal, moving with her family to Toronto in 1975. Loving mother to son Pedro da Silva and daughters, Isabel Ferreira, Margarida Reeves and Teresa da Silva, loving grandmother of Stephanie, Stephen, Jessica and David and great-grandmother to Jonah. She is survived by her husband Henrique and her sisters Natividade, Lourdes and Luisa and is predeceased by her brother José.

Carmo was an artist, piano player and greatly enjoyed the outdoors and sports. As a single young woman she enjoyed her work in the CTT of Portugal (National Postal Service). As a wife, mother and daughter she enjoyed taking care of her family and making everybody happy. Later in life, when in Canada, she also helped in establishing and running the family business always with kindness and consideration for all.

The visitation will be held at The Simple Alternative – Mississauga, 1535 South Gateway Road on Saturday, 10 September at 10:00 am. A service will follow in the chapel at 11:00 am.
