November 25, 1931 - October 10, 2023

Maria Da Costa was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She left us peacefully, surrounded by her children, on October 10, 2023, at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville at the age of 91. Predeceased by her loving husband Alvaro. Cherished mother of Maria (Jerry), Elizabeth (Walter), John (Mary) and Martha (Darren). She is dearly loved and will be greatly missed by her grandchildren Kathy (Arthur), Jason (Helen), Joanne, Rebecca, Alycia, Jonathan, Jordan, Joshua (Cassidy), Jacob, and great-grandchildren Brandon, Kristian and Benjamin.

Donations can be made to the Hospital for Sick Children in memory of Maria.

Maria was always happy to see us and chat with us when we were out and about and loved our dogs Ruby and Marley when they passed by and she was outside. We could see Maria from our living room window puttering away outside at Martha's house doing this or that no matter what the weather, well into her 80's. Maria always needed to be busy it seemed. It was a joy for us to know her. She will be missed but not forgotten.
