With great sadness, we announce the loss of our loving wife to Jerry, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, great-aunt, and friend.

Surrounded by family peacefully at home after a long battle with lung cancer. With her husband Jerry of 59 years by her side. Predeceased by her son, Gordon (Jenefer). Sadly missed by her daughters Katharine (Joe) and Belinda (Scott). Adored grandchildren Jarrod (Krista), Jeremy, Nathaniel, Wolfgang, Isabella, Felicia (Nick), Adrian (Gina), Brianna, Brendon (Brenda), Brittney (James), and Savannah (Devon).

Cherished great-grandchildren Jayden, Leah, Dominik, Paytyn, Gracelyn, Nova, Braxten, Brayden, Jayce, Finley, and Brysen.

She was predeceased by her father Ludwig, mother, Elisabeth, brother, Wolfgang (Lenie), mother-in-law, Clara, and father-in-law, Gordon.

Greatly missed by her sisters Brigette (Richard), Margrit (Denis), Isolde (Ed), many sister and brother in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

So sorry to hear of Maria’s passing. I got to talk with her a couple of times back when we re-did her kitchen. A lovely sole and I’m sure she’ll be sorely missed.

It still doesn't feel real that you aren't here with us. The holidays were not the same and we're missing your laugh and hearing the words "Jesus Christ Jerry, you're worse than the kids!" As Papa gets the kids round up and out of control. Miss you so much but greatful for the last few days with you and watching my kids love you and cherish those last few days. You will always be remembered.

A farewell to our sister

Dear Ria,
We’re so glad we were able to see you one final time before you left us.
Despite the obvious pain you were in, you still managed to share a laugh or two with us, and left us with a beautiful photo of the three of us to remember you by. We will cherish this photo for the rest of our days.
Thank you for everything you’ve done for us over the years. For always keeping in touch, and most especially for mothering us, way back in our younger days. You took us in, arranged for us to attend school there, and ensured we were well looked after and happy.
You never turned anybody away, ever! That’s just the kind of thoughtful person you were.
