Passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on August 4, 2019. Loving wife of Angelo for over 57 years. Beloved mother of Helen (Vasil) and Peter. Cherished Baba of Alexandria and Kevin (Jennifer). Maria will be forever remembered for her love and dedication to her family, for her tenacity and her strong will- she was a “force to be reckoned with”. Maria will be dearly missed by all who knew this lovely lady. Friends may call at THORNTON CEMETERY & FUNERAL CENTRE, 1200 Thornton Road North, Oshawa, (South of Taunton Road and off of Dryden Blvd, 905-579-6787) on Friday, August 9, 2019 from 9 am until time of Funeral Service at 10 am. Interment will follow. The Pappas family wish to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the compassionate nursing staff of Lakeridge Health Oshawa for care and professionalism shown to Maria and her family. Donations will be gratefully accepted for Critical Care or Palliative Care at Lakeridge Health Oshawa.
