It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Maria Makarczuk on May 14th, 2021.

Dearly loved by her children Peter (Katie) and Margaret (Wojtek). Babcia and Grandma to Wojtek Jr., Cassandra and Nicholas.

Adored sister to Eugenia, Bruno, Stacia and Jania.

Maria will be affectionately remembered by her many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends in Canada, Poland and many other countries around the world.

Born on July 28, 1941 to Dimitr and Aniela Masko in Czerce Poland, Maria immigrated to Canada in 1962.

Besides taking care of and raising a family, Maria also worked at Oshawa General Hospital for many years. Maria enjoyed being an entrepreneur with her amber jewelry business, watching classic movies, going to dances, being outdoors in nature, and her daily walk to Tim Hortons for a coffee and muffin.

We would like to express special thanks to the doctors, nurses and all support staff at the Tony Stacey Centre for the exceptional care that was provided.

A private family burial will take place at a later date
