Maria Lucia Giurgiovich

November 13, 1935 -  April 5, 2022

It is with deep sadness the family of Maria Giurgiovich (née Sincovich) announces her passing on Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at Woodhall Park Care Community. She was predeceased by her husband of 41 years, Antonio. Survived by her children Lucia (Gene), Irene (Daryl), Corinne (Joe) and Anthony (Jan). Loved and adored by her 12 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Maria will be fondly remembered by her siblings Agostino (Erminia) of Italy, Severino (Rosetta) of Italy and Gina (Pietro) of Italy. Also survived by her sisters-in-law Bianca and Graziella of Italy and Virginia of Milton. Maria is predeceased by her siblings Federico (Carla) of Australia, Antonio of Italy, Arduvino of Italy, Giusefina of Italy and Alviro of Milton.

Affectionately known to many as Nonna, Maria was born in Urini, Italy. She moved to Canada in 1956 with her husband Antonio and established their life in Brampton. In March of 2012, Nonna survived a massive stroke and has lived the last 10 years surrounded by family and friends. Family would like to thank the staff at Woodhall Park Care Community for their care and compassion.

Family and friends are invited to visit at the Meadowvale Cemetery, Cremation & Funeral Centres (7732 Mavis Road, Brampton, ON, L6Y 5L5) on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 from 2:00pm – 4:00pm and 6:00pm – 8:00pm and Wednesday, April 13, 2022 from 9:30am – 10:30am. Funeral will be held at Meadowvale Cemetery, Cremation & Funeral Centres, on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at 10:30am. Interment to follow at Meadowvale Cemetery, Cremation & Funeral Centres.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Maria (Nonna) can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Aphasia Institute, which would be appreciated by the family.

Our heartfelt condolences to your family. We feel your loss and want you to know that our prayers of sympathy are extended to you. We will fondly remember the picnics we shared together and all the fun times, and food. Your mother/grandmother was so proud of all of you. You lived up to her expectations all the way through to her final days. Bear no regrets.

Losing a loved one is never easy. Find solace in knowing that Maria has transitioned and is no longer suffering. Continue to support and lift each other in her absence as she would have wanted you to. Her spirit lives on in each of you…carry her in your hearts today, tomorrow…always. 🙏🏻❤️
