At the age of 76 our beloved Maria Joana Cordeiro was called by God's angels to join him eternally in heaven, on July 11, 2022 at 9:30 PM. She passed away peacefully after a long battle with Parkinson's disease, at Main Street Terrace Long Term Care home, Toronto, Ontario.

Maria Joana was born in Arrifes, Sao Miguel, Azores on May 12, 1946 to loving parents, Gil Oliveira and Serafina Couto. She leaves behind her devoted husband of 54 years, Armenio Manuel Cordeiro. She is survived by her children Armenio (Josie), Elizabeth (Robert), Janey (Sebastian) and John and her beautiful grandchildren, Alyssa, Aidan, Sienna and Gia. She also leaves behind her caring brothers, Manuel (deceased), Gil and Jose.

Maria Joana loved to sing in the church choir, was a devoted Catholic and always put the interests of her family first. She was a loving wife, mother and friend.

"Those we love don't go away, they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near. So loved, so missed, so very dear"

May she rest peacefully in eternal life.
