It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Maria Teofilo (nee Di Filippo) at the age of 86 on Monday October 24th 2022.

Beloved wife of the late Nino Teofilo. Cherished mother of Nunzio (the late Mary Riccardi-Teofilo) and Vicky (Tony). Adoring Nonna of Giancarlo (Carmen), Michael and Anthony. Proud Bis-Nonna of Liana. Maria is survived by her brother Gino (the late Rosa). Loving sister-in-law to Lelino and Carmelo (Silvana) and the late Joe (Germana), Alfredo (Ninetta), Tony, Emmanuel and Isabella (Jacques). She will be reunited in Heaven with parents Loving daughter of the late Arturo and Marietta Di Filippo, her brothers and sister Carmine, Nicola and Giuseppina and her late in laws, Nunzio and Vittoria Teofilo. Maria will lovingly be remembered in the hearts of her many God Children, nieces, nephews, family and friends.

She was born on December 16th 1935 in Palombaro, Chieti, Italy. Maria immigrated to Canada in 1957 along with her husband Nino and son Nunzio. She was a dedicated employee of Loblaws (31 years). Maria was kind, loving, supportive and generous. She opened her heart to all. She enjoyed celebrating the holidays and family gatherings. Maria's favorite dish to prepare was Italian wedding soup. She loved making cakes with cream for her family and pizzelle (waffles).
She enjoyed playing bingo and cards (scopa). Her warm embrace, love of family and kindness of heart will be forever missed and never forgotten.

Family and Friends will be received at THE SIMPLE ALTERNATIVE FUNERAL CENTRE- MISSISSAUGA 1535 South Gateway Road (at Dixie Road, two lights south of Eglinton) 905-602-1580 on Friday October 28, 2022 for a time of visitation from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be on Saturday October 29, 2022 at 10a.m. at Sts. Peter & Paul Parish, 4070 Central Parkway East, Mississauga. Interment to Follow at St. John’s Dixie Cemetery, 737 Dundas Street East, Mississauga at 11:15 a.m.
