Maria Devakos

Three weeks after celebrating her 85th birthday with french fries, Mary passed away surrounded by family. Dedicated yiayia to Anna Hulchanski and Tessa Devakos (Graham Holmes), Mary is also survived by her sister Christina, daughter Rea and many dear relations, neighbours and friends. She was predeceased by the love of her love, husband Tom, sister Kaliopi, brother Stavros and parents Panorea and Vasilis Apostolakos.

Born in Petrina, Greece, Mary died as she lived, maintaining her fierce independence and supreme competence while graciously hosting family and friends. She loved travel, good food, soap operas and long walks. Enjoyed shopping at Freshco and David’s Shoes. Her career began with Dr. Petropoulakis and ended at the Bolton Drive. But she was defined by her love of Tom, devotion to family and deep and abiding friendships.

Visitation at 9 am, funeral service at 10 am on Thurs Oct 12 at Prophet Elias Greek Orthodox Church. Internment at St. John's Dixie Cemetery, 737 Dundas St. E , Mississauga.
