Maria Clara da Silva passed away peacefully at Providence Health Care Centre in Toronto, Ontario on Wednesday September 28, 2022, and went to be with her lord Jesus Christ at the age of 86.

She was predeceased by her husband Sebastiao and her son Amandio (Pamela). Lovingly remembered by her son Fausto (Maria). Cherished avó of Sophia (Steffan), David (Courtney), Daniel (Carolyn), Michael (Jaclyn) and Melissa (Dan). Beloved bisavó of Greyson, Adalynn, Lillian, Olivia, Parker, Aiden, Christopher and Gabriella.

Born in a small Portuguese village, Maria Clara immigrated to Toronto with her husband and two young sons in 1967. Despite the language barrier she quickly became a proud Canadian. Among other things she was a phenomenal cook, had a great sense of humour and always enjoyed a stroll through the park. She will be missed dearly by all.

Friends and family will be received at Pine Hills Cemetery on Sunday October 2, 2022, from 2-6pm. A funeral is scheduled for Tuesday October 4, 2022, at 11am at St. John’s Roman Catholic Church, with burial to follow at Pine Hills Cemetery. Reception to follow. All are welcomed to attend and celebrate Maria Clara’s life. In lieu of flowers donations are greatly appreciated to The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation.
