Maria-Luisa Aste-Oneto

November 17, 1945 - February 5, 2019

Maria-Luisa “Luisa” Aste Oneto, age 73 passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday February 5th 2019 in Toronto,Canada.

Maria-Luisa was born on November 17th , 1945 in Valpariso Chile, preceded in death by her parents Derna Oneto and Amadeo Aste. Maria-Luisa grew up in Vina-del-Mar Chile, the youngest of four children including a sister and two brothers,where she studied early childhood education. She married and moved to Toronto, raising two boys. She constantly pursued a deep interest in spiritual and personal growth throughout her life, keeping close friends in Chile and Canada.

Maria-Luisa is survived by her two boys, Miguel Morales-Aste and Marcelo Morales-Aste (Susan) and her two grand-children Nicolas and Benjamin. A memorial service will be held on Sunday February 24th at York Funeral Home, 160 Beecroft Rd, North York,from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, Maria-Luisa was an avid supporter of Doctors Without Borders, and a donation can be made in her name.

Louise was always kind and friendly towards me. I found her to be a very nice and genuine person.

We will all miss our colleague Louise. Even though I worked in a different location I do remember Louise from attending our CUPE local meetings at the Caledonia Centre throughout the years. She was an active supporter of our union, very friendly and talkative. I remember her enthusiasm for helping others and travelling.

May God bless and comfort her family and close friends that are morning her loss.

The Road Not Taken

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
