It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Margaret Annie McKeown on Thursday September 15th as she just entered her 85th year. She will be missed by her daughter Andrea (Ward) as well as son-in-law Peter and grandchildren Sarah and Ryan. She now joins her beloved 'Bill' (William McKeown) and is now enjoying some of his homemade 'truth serum' wine and catching up with each other. Maybe they are even making some of their famous meat pies together!!

Margaret was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland and immigrated to Canada with her sister Kathleen in 1953. While she took several trips back to visit family and friends in Ireland, she was a proud Canadian even if she never after all these years lost her Irish accent. Margaret first and foremost loved her family and was a loving and caring mother and nana. She was so proud of Sarah and Ryan and their accomplishments. Margaret enjoyed reading, some knitting which she would do in spurts and was amazing at doing crossword puzzles. In her later years she loved HGTV and especially Mike Holmes!

The family wishes to thank the staff at Deer Run Retirement for the almost 3 years of wonderful love and care that you have given to Margaret. Especially a huge thank you to Jo-Anne Parisi.

Margaret is missed already but the family knows she is in a better place. Rest in peace Mum/Nana. We love you.
