Born Feb 6, 1964 in the Azores Islands (ie. Island girl) that are between Green Land and Europe. These Islands belong to Portugal.
Her father moved to Canada with the family in the late 60's where they bought a semi detached house in downtown Toronto (ie. Shirley St.) where at one point 5 families lived in this small house. This is a continued theme of how the Correia family was helping others come over to Canada and settle in. Margaret was very much the same as her father, family meant everything, and was always helping the family.
She met a great guy (ie. Leslie Gomba) while attending Ryerson University while studying Computer Science, and fell in love shortly afterwards, dating for a few years, and then getting married in 1988. Had first child Michael in 1992, and second one Christina in 1993.
She worked at TD bank as a programmer and at CIBC bank as IT Director. Work was stressful but she always found ways to relax by walking, gardening or cooking for the family. We travelled a fair bit as well before and after the kids, with and without other family.
Rented vacation homes, or All Inclusive resorts, then started Cruising the Oceans.
She retired in July of 2019, dealt with Uterine and Brain Cancer (Aug 2020), and she passed in Apr 16, 2021.
She got to see her daughter get married Feb 24, 2021
Margaret leaves behind her, husband Leslie, son Michael and daughter Christina.
